Kim So-hyun and Choo Young-woo’s new drama Between Steps arrives on October 5.
In Korea, the series — titled 연애박사 — begins on ENA at 10 p.m. KST and is scheduled every Monday and Tuesday.
For international viewers, Disney+ has official title pages for the series in multiple markets, and Hulu has an official U.S. series page.
3 FACTS
Oct. 5, 10 p.m. KST - Korean premiere on ENA.
Disney+ and Hulu - Disney’s official October schedule lists the series on both services.
Oct. 6 - The second scheduled release date, followed by new episodes on Mondays and Tuesdays in October.
What is Between Steps actually about?
Choo Young-woo plays Park Min-jae, a former high-school swimmer who lost a leg to illness and is now a PhD student in robotics.
Kim So-hyun plays Im Yoo-jin, a master’s student who left her previous path in fashion and is trying to start over.
According to Disney’s official synopsis, Min-jae introduces Yoo-jin to the world of robotics and a new possible future.
Their relationship develops inside a university robotics lab.
That is the key role robotics plays in the story.
This is not being presented as a science-fiction drama about robots or artificial intelligence.
Robotics is the academic environment that brings the two leads together and gives Yoo-jin a new direction.
Where can you watch it in Korea?
ENA has promoted the series as a Monday–Tuesday drama premiering October 5 at 10 p.m. KST.
Korean promotional coverage also identifies Genie TV and Disney+ as streaming options.
The official English title used by Disney is Between Steps.
Where can international viewers watch it?
Disney+ has official Between Steps pages in multiple markets reviewed by Seen in Korea, including the United Kingdom, Japan and Mexico.
Those pages list October 5, 2026.
In the United States, Hulu has an official series page for Between Steps.
Disney’s official October 2026 streaming schedule also lists Between Steps on Disney+ and Hulu beginning October 5.
Streaming rights can vary by country.
That means international viewers should check their own local Disney+ catalog rather than assume the title is available in every Disney+ territory.
When do new episodes arrive?
Disney’s official October schedule lists Between Steps on:
- October 5
- October 6
- October 12
- October 13
- October 19
- October 20
- October 26
- October 27
That follows a Monday–Tuesday pattern.
The official ENA and Disney pages reviewed by Seen in Korea do not provide a final complete episode count.
For that reason, this guide does not treat unofficial season totals as confirmed.
Who is in the cast?
Disney+ lists:
- Choo Young-woo
- Kim So-hyun
- Park Hyuk-kwon
- Seo Jeong-yeon
- Kim Min-seok
- Lee Chang-hoon
Choo plays Park Min-jae and Kim plays Im Yoo-jin.
Why does the robotics lab matter?
The robotics setting is not just background decoration.
Min-jae has rebuilt his life in a new academic field after losing the path he once had as a swimmer.
Yoo-jin enters his world while trying to find a new direction of her own.
Disney’s official synopsis says Min-jae opens Yoo-jin’s eyes to robotics and to a new dream.
The lab therefore becomes the place where both the romance and Yoo-jin’s new future begin to take shape.
What international viewers actually need to know
Use the official English title Between Steps when searching Disney+ or Hulu.
In Korea, the title is 연애박사.
For U.S. viewers, Hulu has an official series page.
For other markets, Disney+ availability should be checked locally because rights can differ by territory.
And do not rely on unofficial episode-count listings yet.
The confirmed October release schedule is more reliable than an unverified full-season total.
WHY IT MATTERS
K-drama availability is often fragmented across Korean broadcasters and international streaming platforms.
Between Steps has unusually clear official confirmation across ENA, Disney+ and Hulu, but it is still important not to turn several confirmed Disney+ territories into a claim of worldwide availability.
The useful answer is straightforward:
the series begins October 5 in Korea, Disney+ carries it in multiple international markets, and Hulu carries it in the U.S.
WHAT TO WATCH NEXT
- Whether more Disney+ territories add or confirm the title.
- The official final episode count.
- Any differences in release timing by country.
- How central the robotics storyline remains as the romance develops.
