For many foreign visitors, one Olive Young store is apparently not enough.

A May 2026 survey of foreign shoppers in designated tourism districts found that respondents visited an average of 2.8 Olive Young stores during their Korea trip.

By the numbers

2.8 stores - Average number visited per foreign shopper in the May survey

151 stores - Olive Young locations designated as key stores for foreign tourists nationwide

33% - Foreign customers' share of Olive Young offline sales as of August 2026

6 products - Average number purchased per transaction

35% - Share spending at least KRW 100,000 in a single purchase

Why visit more than one store?

The survey does not provide one single reason, so it would be wrong to claim one.

But Olive Young's store strategy offers clues.

Different branches vary in size, assortment, stock, event space and tourist services. Large-format destinations such as Central Myeongdong Town are designed for deep browsing, while smaller stores along a travel route provide convenience.

Tourists may also encounter sold-out products, branch-specific displays, gifts with purchase or new products as they move through Korea.

Olive Young is building for this behavior

Olive Young says 151 stores nationwide are key locations for foreign tourists, with services such as multilingual staff and shopping information.

At selected high-foreign-traffic stores, the company has introduced an AI Shopping Assistant and AI interpretation service.

Central Myeongdong Town, opened in March 2026, was specifically designed around foreign-customer shopping patterns, including 22 staffed checkout counters and expanded multilingual guidance.

A tourist who visits one Olive Young is a customer.

A tourist who visits nearly three during the same trip is showing a travel pattern.
