Lee Soo-man’s A2O Entertainment is preparing to launch two new idol groups at the same time.
Boy group A2O SOUL and girl group A2O LITE are scheduled to appear together in the global debut show “WELCOME TO SOULITE From A2O SOUL A2O LITE” on October 12.
The two groups are then scheduled to release their first digital tracks on October 13 at 6 p.m. KST. A2O SOUL’s release is “SUPERSTAR,” while A2O LITE’s is “NEON.”
3 FACTS
Oct. 12 - Joint global debut show.
Oct. 13, 6 p.m. KST - Scheduled digital release time.
2 groups - A2O SOUL and A2O LITE are being introduced through the same launch project.
What is actually confirmed?
A2O Entertainment announced that both teams would be introduced through the same debut show. M2 also promoted the program for simultaneous streaming through M2 YouTube and Mnet Plus.
The rollout separates the first stage from the official digital release: Oct. 12 for the debut show and Oct. 13 for the digital singles.
Why two groups at once?
Most entertainment companies introduce one new idol team, establish its identity, then move on to the next launch. A2O is doing something different by introducing a boy group and a girl group under the same project while giving each team its own music and concept.
Why Lee Soo-man’s role matters
Lee founded SM Entertainment and played a central role in building the production systems behind multiple generations of Korean idol music. After selling his SM shares to HYBE in 2023, he agreed not to engage in domestic music production for three years. That restriction expired in February 2026.
Producer Yoo Young-jin is also involved in music and performance production for the two teams.
What not to overstate
A2O SOUL and A2O LITE should not yet be described as successful new groups simply because of who is producing them. At this stage, the verified facts are the groups, the debut show, the release schedule and the producers involved.
WHY IT MATTERS
This is more than another rookie-group debut. Lee Soo-man is returning to Korean idol production with a structure that deliberately launches two teams together. The question is whether A2O can turn Lee’s established production philosophy into a new company identity rather than simply recreate the system he built at SM.
